As a new year begins, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Nikole Chesley and I have the privilege of being your child’s teacher this year! I am a graduate of Central Michigan University and am thrilled to be teaching D.K. in Fraser Public Schools. I come to you with several years of experience teaching preschool, kindergarten and D.K.
I believe that students can only work and learn in a school community that is safe and nurturing. Students’ differences and their unique contributions will be celebrated in our classroom. Each individual will be treated with respect and will be expected to treat others with respect in return. I believe that each child is special and has something to offer to the class. Though we are powerful individuals, together we are as one, a team.
It is important for parents to stay involved in their child’s education. I will communicate with you through monthly newsletters, notes, phone calls and email. Please feel free to contact me with any concerns or questions, no matter how small you think they may be. I am here to help, and make the school year go as smoothly as possible.
I encourage parents to help out in the classroom and be involved as much as possible. On the other hand, I also understand that all parents may not be able to come into the classroom as much as they would like. For this reason, there will be take-home work available to help with, as well as opportunities to plan and help with events and parties. Also, please remember that even if you are not able to help in the classroom at all, learning extends beyond the classroom. Be a role model to your child and exhibit a love for learning. After all, we want our children to maintain a lifelong desire to learn.
I am looking forward to an exciting year! As always, please feel
free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Nikole Chesley
